Maria Schönholzer is a research assistant at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts North-western Switzerland (FHNW, IGEO). After graduating from the Saint-Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, Maria has been working as an enterprise software developer. Few years ago she decided to switch her focus to the field of geoinformation. She has obtained her second Master degree with specialization in Geomatics from FHNW and is currently involved in research projects. Her current work consists in applying machine learning methods to remote sensing data in order to solve various practical problems.
