Erik Nygren is a Deep Learning researcher at the Swiss Federal Railway Company (SBB) research group. He has a PhD in computational neuroscience and a masters degree in theoretical particle physics. He previously worked on learning models in recurrent spiking networks. His research focus is on applied Machine Learning for transportation systems, in particular the use of deep Reinforcement Learning to tackle the vehicle re-scheduling problem.
