The use of data has massive potential to further improve the industrial manufacturing of food and feed with respect to yield, quality and carbon footprint. In order to actually deliver on this promise and create real value for both the industry and the planet, a highly interdisciplinary approach is key.
Matthias has been working at this exciting interface for the past few years, leading the setup of Bühler’s first data science team and pioneering the launch of data-driven services. Matthias is a physicist by education and holds a Master’s degree from the University at Buffalo and a PhD from the University of Basel.
